Last March 8, 2022, the first installment of 2022 Distriphil’s Health Awareness Academy (HAA) was held with the initiative of Distriphil’s Human Resources and Organizational Development (HROD) department.

HAA is one of the continued employee engagement initiatives of Distriphil. It empowers employees with basic knowledge on how they can keep themselves healthy and well. Previous topics of the Health Awareness Academy have covered conditions such as hypertension, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, eye health, hepatitis, among many others. Our speaker for the webinar is no other than DISTRIPHIL’s Head of Medical and Regulatory Affairs, Dr. CJ Amil.

Burns are tissue damage brought on by heat, chemicals, electricity, radiation, or the sun. Nearly half a million Americans seek medical care for accidental burns each year. First-degree burns, and most second-degree burns, heal with at-home treatments. Third-degree burns can be life-threatening and require specialized medical care. ^[1]

Dr. Amil discussed the different types of burns and how it will be treated according to category.

The webinar filled with energy because of the Q&A Portion and the games which participated by the attendees of the webinar. The winner was awarded a gift certificate from Distriphil.

This topic is very relevant now these days because our country is now experiencing the heat of summer and in celebration of the FIRE Prevention month which is celebrated every month of March.
